Best Halogen Oven Air Fryer

Ovens, they radiate heat and cook food slowly. However, starting a oven is often time cumbersome and waste a lot of energy. Manufacturer have developed many alternative such as the air fryer, toaster oven and convection oven. Now we have a new type of oven, the Halogen Oven. Instead of a quartz or coil heating element Halogen Oven uses a Halogen bulb to heat up food. The Best Halogen Oven has easy to use controls with a power halogen bulb. The glass container should also be tempered to resist shattering.

Halogen Oven vs Air Fryer

A Halogen Oven is a convection like oven that uses a halogen bulb to heat up food. At the top, there is a fan to circulate all the hot air. This design is actually very similar to how a Air Fryer Work. The main difference is that the air fryer uses a heating coil instead of a Bulb. Compared to all other table oven, the main advantage that a Halogen Oven has is the ability to see food while it cooks. While it may seem superficial, whats wrong with dinner and a show? Besides, you can judge just how well the food is cooking.

One thing to note, is that the bulbs is expensive to replace. Its almost to the point that its better to just buy a new unit. On air fryers, the heating coils rarely go out. Just keep that in mind when purchasing one.

Is it Healthier?

The main advantage of oven cooking is the reduction of oil. Most of the recipes only calls for a slight spritz of oil in. The exterior will dry up and crisp up. If your main goal is to reduce the amount of fat, then yes its healthier.

What about Taste?

Compared to a traditional oven, it does not get as hot. The results are also a bit subpar. In my experience, Halogen Oven never truly gets hot enough. They do brown food and you can cook steak, but you really shouldn’t. Things like vegetables fair much better. They do cook those well and it does crisp up breaded food like Fish and Chips. Just dont expect the same quality as a deep fryer. The flavor is very different.

How to Use a Halogen Oven Air Fryer

To use a Halogen Oven, load food onto the tray. Be sure to prepare it per the recipe recommendation. Even spacing between
the food will give you the best result. Set the time and recommended temperature and watch it cook. Be sure to monitor it so that you wont over cook or under cook the food. These Oven will cycle the Halogen Bulbs based on the temperature. If it detects that it reaches your set temperature, it will stop the heating. It will resume once the temperature drops to maintain a steady state.

Cleaning

Perhaps the best thing about the Halogen Oven is the cleaning. All you need to do is add water to the jar and turn it on. The fan and the heat will swish the hot water around and clean it for you. Its quite a show and its hands off. Just use a sponge when necessary.

Thoughts

A Halogen Oven is a good alternative to the traditional Oven. They work very much like an air fryer but with a Halogen Bulb. The air circulates and keeps it an even bake. Most of the models are very similar is price and design. You cant go wrong with any of them. The worse you will deal with is the customer service. The main drawback is the bulb, once it goes it cost as much as a new unit. I would argue that just getting an air fryer might be better.
