Best Folding Omelette Pan

A Omelette is a sign of a true chef. How well its made is a test done by all aspiring chef. As such, mastering it can be really difficult for the average cook. The good thing is that there is a tool for that, the Folding Omelette Pan. All you need to do is fill it with egg and flip. However, its not quite exactly like a true omlette. Also using this pan requires a bit of practice. Either way, the Best Folding Omelette Pan are those that uses a thick aluminum core with a nonstick interior.

What is a Folding Omelette Pan?

The Folding Omelette Pan has been around since the mid 1900’s. Before, you can find models like those from mirror. While you can get those vintage model, more than likely the nonstick coating doesn’t work. As the name suggest, these pan are design to make omlette. Instead of tossing and folding it perfectly, you fill and then flip.

How to use a Hinged Omelette Pan?

Using a Hinged Omelette Pan can be a bit challenging at first. I recommend at least three eggs when making a omelette. Start off by preheating the pan with oil in it. Beat the eggs and when the pan is hot, add the egg to both reservoir. Lower the temperature and add the desired filling. Once the underside is cooked, close.

While the method above is the standard way of making a traditional omelette, making a frittata is easier. Just heat the pan, fill one side with egg and then add your filling. Once the bottom is cooked, close and flip.

Washing and Care

Because this is technically a nonstick pan. You should use the same method as a nonstick pan. When using the pan, always add oil. Oil will help temper it and prevent it from over heating. If you do overheat it, you risk damaging the nonstick coating.

The utensil that you use should be wooden or plastic. Things like a metal fork will damage it.

When washing, I recommend that you avoid using the dishwasher. Also when you clean it, always use the soft side of the sponge. The nylon side will eventually wear down the nonstick.
