Best Springform Cake Pan

Baking cakes and deserts are some of the most relaxing things that I do. From mixing, resting to fermentation. All the process involves exact science. However, what does not involve science is unmolding. After you baked the perfectly golden cake, it gets stuck in the pan. Basically ruin all your hours of hard labor. A good way to get around this is by using a Springform Cake Pan. Instead of unmolding, all you need to do is unlatch the spring. The Best Springform Cake Pan are heavy duty with a nonstick coating. However, most modern model uses thin and flimsy metal.

What is a Springform Cake Pan?

A Springform cake pan is a cake pan with removable side. It is locked together with a latch. The base is removable for easy unmolding. Because of how it works, its mostly used for cheesecake. However, you can use it in place anywhere a regular cake pan is used. One thing that you should avoid is very thin liquid batter. While a quality springform pan wont leak, most will.

Springform Pan vs Cake Pan

If you already have a cake pan, you might wonder do you need a cake pan? That depends on the type of cake you make. For regular sponge cake, most likely not. As long as you butter and prepare it properly, unmolding it should not be much of an issue. However, for things like Cheese Cake, yes you do. The main reason is the base of the cheesecake. Its very difficult to unmold it without destroying it. Using a springform pan all you need to do is unlatch and its unmolded. You can also use springform pan in any place where a round object is baked. It just makes unmolding thing easy.

How to Use Springform Cake Pan

To use the a Springform pan begin by greasing it with butter. A light dusting of flour will aid in the removal of the cake. After baking, be sure to let the cake cool for around 3 minutes.

I would avoid using any metal utensil to try and cut the cake. you can damage the nonstick lining.

Cleaning

To clean the pan, just use hot water and soap. When using a sponge, do so with the soft side. The rough nylon will eventually wear it down. I also recommend avoid using the dishwasher. That will damage the coating as well.

Material

Most springform cake pan will use a nonstick coating. This makes it easy to unmold and reduce the risk of destroying the cake. On the inside, cheaper models will use aluminum. They gauge of the aluminum are usually very thing and they also leak quite a bit. Thicker models usually use iron or steel. They dont necessarily bake better but they do store more heat. They also wont warp as easily as the cheaper thin model.
