Nissin Chow Mein Teriyaki Beef Review

Nissin Chow Mein Teriyaki Beef is a quick and easy way to eat teriyaki beef at home. All you need to do is fill in water and hit the microwave button. However, this method is kind of a waste of energy. There is no specific instructions on how to cook it on the stove top. Health wise, its not that great either, nor is the flavor. So why is it so popular…I really dont know. This review will go into why I think this is a mediocre instant noodle.

Who is Nissin

Nissin is a Japanese company that specialize in instant ready to eat food. The company was founded by Momofuku Ando a Taiwanese/Japanese Immigrant. He was the founder of the first instant ramen. This sparked a revolution in the instant food industry. Now, instant noodles is one of the most successful food product in the world.

Some of Nissin most popular item is top ramen and instant cup. Their food is the staple of any college students. However, they never really gotten a good reputation for their health.

Taste and Texture

The taste and texture will depend on how you cook. If you follow the microwave method, then the noodle will be slightly watery. The packet that they give you is weak and the overall flavor is quite weak. The only way you can improve it is by reducing the total amount of water.

In terms of the noodle, it has a chew and its quite nice. If they just increase the teriyaki flavor, it will be better.

How to Improve It

The best way to improve it is to cook it in a pan. After the noodle is soft, I would put it in a nonstick pan and drive off the moisture. Add in the packets to increase the intensity of the flavor. On the side, I would put in some fried beef and green onion and eggs. With all of this you would have a miniature dinner. Although this would kind of defeat the whole instant concept.

Nissin Chow Mein Teriyaki Beef Thoughts

Overall, this is a mediocore noodle. The sauce packet is too less and flavor is weak. Microwaving doesnt really work that well either. You need to fry it in a pan and add other flavor to make it taste better. Health wise, its pretty bad also. However, its one of the few teriyaki noodle on the market.
